Our Story

Bear Skins Custom Ink is completely family owned and operated. Owned by Lyle and Cindy Bayles. Lyle worked for nearly 30 years as a police officer before he decided to retire. Cindy had been a stay-at-home mom for all of those years to their 6 children.They reside in Blanding, Utah. Where they live and run their business. Why Blanding, UT? It is as close as you can get to woods without actually living there and Lyle grew up here and his heart will always be here.

After retiring the question was what do we do now. And luck was on our side. It has been a whirlwind since! They have been amazed and blessed at the support that they have received from the local community.The local screen printer decided they wanted to sell their business and called their daughter to see if she was interested. She wasn’t but they were! So they took a leap of faith and bought their business and brought it home on November 1 of 2016.

In May of 2017 they decided to expand their business further and bought out another screen printer in Monticello, UT. (That is about 20 minutes away.)

Our Background

The former owners were happy to help set up and train Lyle and Cindy. They were excellent teachers. However, they were hungry for more education. So they headed to Phoenix, Arizona to attend Terri Coombs screen printing class and learn every facet of the screen printing business. Cindy has been going to school and has had some great training in graphic design. They have been screen printing for over a year now and loving it.

They have also added embroidery to their list of services that they offer. They have brought on an excellent embroidery person who does an amazing work.

Lyle is an avid hunter and outdoors man. He has hunted elk, buffalo, deer, antelope, bear, mountain lion, coyote, bobcat, javelina, and small game. Cindy is no slacker, she has hunted elk, moose, deer and small game. If you are ever looking for them they are either in the screen printing shop or out in the woods.
